Sell online with your own webshop
Conciar doesn't host a webshop for you. You connect your own website or app to Conciar through the Conciar API. Your products, stock, customers and orders then live in Conciar, next to your till.
Building the shop itself is work for a developer. This page covers what you set up in the dashboard; your developer starts at Build on Conciar.
1. Create a sales channel for the shop
- In my.conciar.com, go to Settings → Sales Channels and click New Sales Channel.
- Enter a Channel Name, and choose the Default Currency and Default Language.
- Tick Test channel if you want to try things out first. You can't change this later, so create a separate live channel when you're ready.
- Save. The Channel token is shown once; copy it for your developer.
2. Create an API key
Go to Management → API Keys and create a key. Give both parts to your developer: the shop needs the secret key for the cart and checkout. See API keys and authentication.
3. Choose which products are online
Open a product and go to its Sales Channels tab. Tick the channels it should appear on. A product with no channel ticked isn't shown in any shop.
4. Set up shipping
Go to Store → Shipping and add a shipping method for each option you offer:
- Flat Rate: a fixed price.
- Free: no charge.
- Pickup: the customer collects the order.
Under the rate, add conditions to limit a method to a minimum or maximum order amount, or to certain countries, provinces, cities or postcodes. For example, use a minimum order amount to make shipping free above a certain total.
To connect PostNL, go to Settings → Shipping. PostNL is the only carrier you can connect.
5. Check the channel settings
In Settings → Sales Channels, click Edit on the channel:
| Tab | What to check |
|---|---|
| General | Hide out-of-stock products, Auto-print receipt on paid order, your channel logo, and Maintenance mode to block shoppers while you make changes. |
| Checkout | Guest Checkout (orders without an account), Order Confirmation Email, and which Payment Methods this shop offers. |
| Countries | The countries you ship to. Leave empty to allow all. |
| Hours | The channel's own opening hours, if they differ from your business. |
What happens with an order
- When a customer places an order, Conciar reserves the stock. When the payment succeeds, the stock is deducted. If there isn't enough stock, the order isn't placed.
- The order appears in Management → Orders.
- The customer gets a confirmation email if Order Confirmation Email is on.
- With Auto-print receipt on paid order on, the receipt prints on your order receipt printer.
- To get a message for each new paid order, switch on New paid orders under Order alerts at the top of Settings → Sales Channels.
Store → Carts shows your shop's carts and which ones were turned into an order or abandoned.
Moving from another shop system
Settings → Import / move to Conciar copies your customers and products once from Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or Shopware, or from a CSV file. It doesn't keep the two systems in sync afterwards.
Common problems
A product doesn't show in the shop. Check its Sales Channels tab. If Hide out-of-stock products is on, check its stock too.
Shoppers get an error that the shop is unavailable.Maintenance mode is on for the channel.
Test orders show up in my orders. Use a Test channel for testing. The channel's Purge test data button removes its test orders.
