Set up printers and receipts
Each printer has its own settings for paper, cutting and receipt text. On Settings → Label Printing you choose which printer prints what. To connect a new Epson printer first, see Set up your devices.
Change how a printer prints
- In my.conciar.com, go to Hardware → Printers.
- Click the Edit (pencil) button next to the printer.
- Change the settings and click Save.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Paper width | 58 mm or 80 mm. Match the paper roll in the printer. |
| Encoding | The character set the printer uses. Change it only if letters print wrong. |
| Ticket language | The language of printed tickets. On restaurant kitchen tickets, the station's language wins if both are set. |
| Auto-cut | Partial, Full or None. |
| Feed lines before cut | Empty lines before the cut, from 0 to 10. |
| Print logo on top | Prints your logo at the top of every ticket. |
| Open cash drawer after print | Opens the cash drawer connected to this printer each time it prints. |
| Beep on print | The printer beeps when it prints. Only for raw (ESC/POS) printers. |
| Header and Footer | A centred line at the top and bottom of the receipt, up to 200 characters. For example your opening hours or "Thank you for your visit". |
Your logo comes from Settings → Organization details. See Change your business details.
Cash drawer
Switch on Open cash drawer after print only for the printer the drawer is connected to. Otherwise the drawer opens for every ticket.
Choose which printer prints what
You need the admin or manager role.
- Go to Settings → Label Printing. If you see tabs, open Printers.
- Each kind of print job has its own section. Click Add printer, pick a printer and set the number of copies. Add more printers to print on several at once.
- Click Save.
| Print job | When it prints | Who has it |
|---|---|---|
| Order receipt | The customer receipt for an order. | Every business |
| Shipping label | When an order is marked ready to ship. | Store |
| Return label | For customer returns. | Store |
Kitchen and bar tickets aren't set here. A restaurant sends them through its stations: see Set up your devices.
Item labels (restaurants)
A restaurant can print a label for every item you choose when an order reaches the kitchen, for example for takeaway meals or drinks. The label shows the pickup number, the item and every option, change and note.
You need the admin or manager role.
- Go to Settings → Label Printing and open the Item labels tab.
- Switch on Print labels automatically.
- Under Which items, choose the categories or items that get a label.
- Choose the Label size, or Custom, for a label printer with die-cut labels.
- Under On the label, choose what else to print, such as a Second name under the item.
- Under Printers, pick a printer per store and how it prints:
- Label (PDF): a label printer with die-cut labels.
- Roll: a receipt-style printer on a label roll, cut after every label.
- Auto: Conciar decides from the printer.
- Check the Preview and click Save.
Labels print at the store the order is at. Items added to an open order later get their own labels.
Common problems
The receipt is cut off at the sides. The Paper width doesn't match the paper roll. Change it in Edit printer.
Strange characters print instead of letters. Try a different Encoding for that printer.
I can't pick a printer on Label Printing. You haven't added a printer yet. Add one in Hardware → Printers first.
Receipts don't print. Check that Order receipt has a printer picked in Settings → Label Printing, and that the printer is online.
