Use the restaurant till
The till runs in the Conciar app on your tablet. To set up the device, staff PINs and printers first, see Set up your devices.
The till needs an internet connection for every sale. It doesn't work offline.
Open the POS tab. At the top, choose how you're selling:
- Tables: orders for a table, kept on the table's tab until it's paid.
- Bar: tabs without a table, for example at the bar.
- Takeaway: a sale that's paid straight away.
Switching between these throws away any items you haven't sent yet.
Open a table
- In Tables, tap a free table. Use the floor chips and All / Free / Occupied to find it, or switch to the floor plan view.
- Optionally enter the guest's name, set the Party size, and tap Open table.
Tap an occupied table to go back to its tab. If the table is held for a reservation, the till warns you; tap Open anyway to use it.
For a bar tab, choose Bar, tap New bar tab, optionally enter a name, and tap Open tab.
Add items
- Tap a dish. In Customize, choose its options, and remove, add extra or swap ingredients. Required choices are marked Required.
- Tap Add 1 to order (the number changes with the quantity).
Switch on Quick to add a dish with its default choices in one tap. Hold a dish to customize it instead.
To put an item on a guest's seat, tap the seat in the seat strip before adding it, or use Assign to seat on the item. Tap the active seat again to give it the guest's name.
Send to the kitchen
New items wait under To send. Slide Slide to send to kitchen to send them. They go to the kitchen screens and printers set up in print routing.
To remove an item that was already ordered, tap ✕ on it and choose Remove.
Move a tab
Press and hold a table to open its details, then tap Move tab and choose a free table or The bar. You can't move a tab onto a table that already has one, and tabs can't be merged.
Discounts
On a table tab or a takeaway sale, tap Add discount and enter a percentage or a fixed amount. Bar tabs can't have a manual discount.
If discounts need a manager's approval, the till asks which manager to send the request to. Set this in my.conciar.com under Settings → Point of sale → Discounts need a manager's approval. There you can also set a small discount that employees may give without asking.
Members and loyalty
Tap Member, then scan the member's QR code or type their member number and tap Find. You can then add stamps, use points, or redeem a reward on the order.
Print the bill
On the table's details, tap Print bill to print the bill before payment. Receipts aren't printed automatically for restaurant orders.
Take payment
Tap Charge and choose how the guest pays:

| Cash | Enter the cash received; the till shows the change. Tap Collected. |
| Card terminal | The amount is sent to your Buckaroo card terminal. |
| Scan to pay | The till shows a QR code; the guest pays online on their phone. |
| Gift card | Pay all or part with a gift card, and the rest with another option. |
After a takeaway payment, the till shows a Pickup number to give to the customer.
Split the bill by seat
On a table with seats, choose who pays now: tap one or more seats, and Shared items if those are included, then Charge selected. Pay with cash, card terminal or Scan to pay. Each seat can also be printed as its own bill.
You can't split a restaurant bill by item or by amount.
Tips
To ask guests for a tip, go to Settings → Payments → Tipping in the app and switch on Ask for a tip. Set your tip presets and default percentage. Before a cash or card terminal payment, the till shows Add a tip? to the guest. Scan to pay has no tip step.
The Tips view on the Orders tab shows your tip totals per period.
Count your cash drawer
A cash shift is optional. In the app, open Settings → Shift:
- Tap Open shift and enter the opening float.
- At the end of the shift, tap Close shift and enter the cash you counted.
The till shows the expected cash (float plus cash sales minus cash refunds) and whether you're over or short.
Common problems
Items I added disappeared. You switched between Tables, Bar and Takeaway before sending them.
"That table already has an open tab." You can only move a tab to a free table.
Split by seat isn't available. The table has no seats set up, or a gift card is already used on the tab.
There's no Add discount button. Manual discounts aren't available on bar tabs.
