Set up tax rules

A tax rule tells Conciar how much VAT to charge. You create one rule per rate, then choose a rule on every restaurant item and shop product.

Create a tax rule

1. In my.conciar.com, go to Management → Tax Rules and click New tax rule.
2. Start from a template, such as Standard (21%) or Reduced (9%), or set the percentage yourself.
3. Choose whether your prices already include tax: Prices already include tax or Prices are excl. tax.
4. Check the preview and click Create rule.

Create one rule for each VAT rate you use, for example one for food and one for alcoholic drinks.

Give items and products a tax rule

Choose the rule under Tax Rule on the Pricing tab of each restaurant item and shop product.

Always choose a tax rule

An item or product without a tax rule is charged without VAT. Don't leave Tax Rule empty.
